This blog post isn’t about stone or design, but it is about someone very important to New Stone Age, Matt Kerns, and his festive interest in fireworks.
Before becoming owner of New Stone Age with his wife, Matt traveled all over Ohio lighting up the night sky with a company specializing in providing firework shows for events. Matt was about 21 when a friend he knew growing up convinced him to work with him for this company.
Matt had to get background checks to get cleared with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and he was able to get to work.
Fireworks have been intertwined in Matt’s life in significant ways ever since. Matt proposed to Krissy at the 4th of July celebration at Bay Days, and arranged for a fireworks show at the end of their wedding reception in 2014.
This time of year is special for Matt, as fireworks glitter and bang up above: “I still feel like a little kid watching them. Every time I see them I can’t help but stop and watch.”
